StrideTap can't find my treadmill

  • Switch the treadmill off and on. Many only advertise for a short while after power-on.
  • Close the treadmill's own app on every phone and tablet nearby. Most treadmills talk to one device at a time.
  • Treadmills that only came with a remote (no app) don't send data over Bluetooth, so no app can read them.

My steps don't show up in Apple Health's daily total

Health counts one source at a time. If your Apple Watch is listed above StrideTap, its (lower) count wins for that time. Fix it once: Health, then Steps, then Data Sources & Access, then Edit, then drag StrideTap above your Watch. StrideTap tells you in History if it detects this.

My treadmill isn't supported

In StrideTap open Treadmill, then Add Your Treadmill. If your treadmill sends data over Bluetooth, you can teach StrideTap where its step count is: walk for 30 seconds with its remote, then step off for 15. You can also request a treadmill: tell us the brand, model and the app it came with.

Sending a compatibility report

Treadmill, then Help, then Send a Compatibility Report records what your treadmill sends while you walk with its remote. StrideTap only listens (it sends no commands), and you review the report before sharing it. Reports turn "Beta" treadmills into tested ones.

Is the belt safe to control from my phone?

StrideTap only moves the belt when you tap Start, change speed or use one of your shortcuts, and always uses the treadmill's own start sequence, including its countdown. Keep the treadmill's remote within reach, and follow your treadmill's safety instructions.
